Environmental activists demonstrated in Glasgow (Scotland) where the COP26 is being held. On the Spanish side, the Cumbre Vieja volcano is still erupting.
On the sidelines of the COP26 in Glasgow (Scotland), environmental activists appeared in the street, dressed in masks representing different heads of state but also some with disguises inspired by the successful series Squid Game. They warned of the climate emergency and the commitments that countries must make. In the city, a demonstration, this time at the call of the Extinction Rebellion movement, was held in front of the headquarters of the American bank JP Morgan, a bank accused of financing fossil fuel projects.
Vladimir Putin addressed the main Russian military officials. He recommended the use of all modern technologies to develop drones in particular. Small flying objects, they have the particularity of being difficult to spot for radars.
The Cumbre Vieja volcano continues to worry in Spain. A month and a half after erupting, its activity has still not slowed down and the rash could continue for several weeks, or even months, according to experts. Authorities evacuated more than 6,000 people and more than 2,500 buildings were destroyed by the lava flows.
