“For several seasons, we wanted to have with us a grandfather and his grandson. We often had some in our preselections, but we never managed to keep them until the filming of the program. There are a lot of steps to go through, including very extensive medical tests and it turns out that people who are over 60 often do not pass these tests.“explained the producer Thierry Guillaume on this subject at 20 minutes.
Moreover, their complicity cracks internet users since they never let go of each other’s hands. Indeed, Jean-Claude wanted to realize the dream of his grandson who was only waiting for his majority to try his luck. “After three days, I realized that he was the boss. He left with a handicap compared to the other pairs: my age. But he always took me by the hand. This is the love of a grandson for his grandfather. We are already very close. We went for the experience and, what we experienced, we could not have imagined” confessed Axel’s grandpa.
That said, that doesn’t stop Jean-Claude from pulling his grandson’s ears when he goes too far. During the fourth episode broadcast this Thursday, March 3, the candidates had to face a lunch based on live worms and cow intestine. Then there was virtual football between candidates. Thus, after rubbing shoulders with Fanny and Jérémy, the Axel/Jean-Claude duo had to face Tarik and Ahmed.
Facing the ball-loving cousins, Axel said: “Tarik and Ahmed, we know they play football. They know how to kick the ball. I tell myself that it’s so complicated that you can put Cristiano Ronaldo against my grandmother, I don’t know who will win” .
This joke didn’t really make Jean-Claude laugh, who reprimanded him, saying: “Say, respect your grandmother”. You will have understood: with him, everything except grandma!
