The war and the economic sanctions against Russia are causing tensions over the supply of raw materials. The barrel of oil, for example, exceeded Wednesday March 2 the bar of 110 dollars, unseen since August 2014. The situation is becoming untenable for transport companies.

Filling the tanks of coaches becomes a luxury for a Marseille transport company. In the offices, the leaders are doing the accounts, powerless in the face of the observation of fuel prices: “It keeps going up every day”. Each week, we order and consume 60,000 liters of diesel. Week over week, that’s up 3,000 euros”, says Terence Vidal, Azur Évasion site manager. The company could increase its prices, but fears that this will have a bad impact on reservations.

In Essonne, a transporter of dangerous goods buys one million liters of fuel per month. He passes the increase on to his customers. There is no other solution, in any case we could not bear it, we do not have the means to support such an increase in fuel”assures Philippe PrematDirector of Transport Premat. Of its 500 trucks, some also run on gas, but there too, the price has exploded: +300%. Results : they are at a standstill.
