The prices of food products sold in supermarkets will increase by 3 to 4%, and this has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. The annual negotiations between the major distributors and their suppliers ended on the night of Tuesday March 1 to Wednesday March 2.
For months, farmers and manufacturers have clashed with large retailers to fix the prices of their products on the shelves. On the night of Tuesday March 1 to Wednesday March 2, the negotiations ended. Consequence: the receipt of the French is likely to climb. Prices on milk, meat, eggs or even poultry will increase by 3 to 4% on average.
On the shelves, these increases should occur in the coming days and are already worrying some customers. “We live with it very badly, we pay attention to everything, we limit outings, everything has increased”denounces one of them. “When we calculate over a month, it’s huge, already we don’t have a lot of money”, says another client. These increases are likely to continue in the coming months. With the war in Ukraine, transport and energy prices could also continue to rise.
