The picnic is making a strong comeback in these times of Covid-19, and is gaining many followers. Simple or sophisticated, it offers everyone a taste of freedom!
Summer has started well, like the many picnics that are organized with fine weather. In Tournefeuille (Haute-Garonne), a family played the card of gluttony and improvisation: “It’s pretty straightforward. We cut a little melon, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, it’s pretty homemade.“Another, just a few yards away, is much more organized: she even brought her barbecue to grill the sausages.
After a year and a half of pandemic, the picnic allows you to find a taste of freedom. To attract a new audience, some municipalities are competing in imagination, such as Chilly-Mazarin (Essonne) where musical entertainment is organized for the 70 people present. A supplier from Val-de-Marne started delivering picnic baskets when restaurants were closed. His company delivers up to 50 baskets per week, at a cost of 65 euros for six people.
