The conflict in Ukraine has been going on for six days now, and Russia is increasingly isolated and economically weakened. The international community has chosen to strike hard at the wallet of power and the state. Sanctions which have had consequences on the Russian population, which has no choice but to suffer.

In Moscow (Russia), signs of solidarity with the Ukrainian people are discreet, and words against the war are spoken away from the crowd. Opposition to the war does not seem massive on the Russian side, but will the economic sanctions imposed by the international community increase distrust of Vladimir Putin? On Monday, February 28, the ruble lost 30% of its value, causing long queues in front of certain banks.

Monday, March 1, in Moscow, the inhabitants are divided between anguish and weariness. A resident is worried, for example, that the banks have increased credit rates. The sanctions also have consequences for the working lives of Russians. Air links to Europe are almost completely cut off. Those who work abroad are heavily impacted.
