On December 5, 2017, Johnny Hallyday breathed his last at the age of 74 following a long illness. On the web and in the media, many stars and anonymous people paid tribute to him. To this day, Laeticia Hallyday masterfully manages her artistic heritage. After a long legal battle opposing her to the elders of the rocker, the businesswoman now wants to move forward.
Since then agreements have been signed out of sight as to the entire heritage of Johnny Hallyday. But for Laura Smet and David Hallyday, all these past stories marked them forever. “We’re a meter apart right now, but between her and me it’s going to be more like miles. There will never be peace possible […]”, affirmed the daughter of Nathalie Baye on the waves of RTL. “I don’t wish Laeticia any harm, but I want her to leave me alone and stop speaking for me about my relationship with my father.”
Last September, Laeticia Hallyday inaugurated – without them – a statue in honor of theteen idols on the forecourt of the AccorHotels Arena de Bercy in Paris. An event which had the merit of disconcerting Eddy Mitchell, the godfather of Laura Smet. “This statue does not evoke anything, it is not Johnny […] I don’t even mind, they do what they want. Soon they will put it… I don’t know… with a feather in the ass, hanging anywhere, I don’t care”. confided the singer in the show Seven to Eight.
An exit which had the merit of ulcerating Jean-Claude Camus, the ex-producer of Taulier. “I didn’t find it very elegant. He was a friend and I don’t think you can talk about a friend like that.” analyzed the father of Isabelle Camus. “He said we were going to put a feather in his ass soon… Frankly, I didn’t find that elegant! Yes, that pissed me off, I don’t want to talk in I don’t know if Johnny would have liked this statue, he loved his motorcycles so much but what I do know is that he wouldn’t have liked a statue, he hated it I think Laeticia knew it too and that’s why she opted for this formula”. End of the controversy?
