Russian invasion | Ukrainian players urge soccer world to ‘resist’

(Paris) Several Ukrainian footballers, including headliners Oleksandr Zinchenko and Andriy Yarmolenko, called on the world of soccer to “resist” against the Russian invasion of their country, in a video published on social networks by the Federation on Tuesday. Ukrainian (UAF).

“We call on everyone who hears us to stand up against this war, to stop the destruction and the bloodshed […] No to war,” the players asserted.

Several of these internationals have also collected 500,000 euros to help the Ukrainian armed forces, said the UAF.

During the weekend, in England or in Germany where the captain of Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski wore an armband in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, the world of football showed its support with Ukraine.
