These are young people who left the school system too early and, above all, without any diploma. But all is not lost thanks to the second chance school present in Tours since 2004 as well as in Blois which trains approximately 270 young people aged 16 to 30 each year.
Objective, to put them back to work and give them the opportunity to set foot in business. With internships, work-study contracts and individualized training. This Tuesday, a partnership agreement was signed between this school and the departmental building federation.
There are at least 700 vacancies in the construction sector in Indre-et-Loire”, Bruno Libault
“It will allow us to get closer to a network of departmental building companies”explains Bruno Libault, the director of the second chance school in Tours. “And allow our young people to meet professionals who will come and talk about their profession, their experience and the career opportunities available to them. There are at least 700 jobs to be filled in construction in Indre-et-Loire for the next two years. It’s a virtuous process.”
Today, approximately 10% of our trainees go into building trades. With this partnership, we hope to go much further.”
This is not the first partnership of this type that has been signed by the second chance school in Tours. Other agreements of this type have already been concluded in the area of trade, but also health. “Sectors of activity that offer jobs at the first level of qualification”says Bruno Libault.
The second chance school operates in permanent entrances and exits. We welcome around twenty young people every 4 to 6 weeks. So registrations are permanent.
