(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened lower on Monday in the face of the escalation of Western sanctions which want to isolate Russia, in retaliation for the invasion of Ukraine by Moscow: the Dow Jones lost 1.39%, the NASDAQ dropped 0.77%.

The United States announced on Monday that it was crippling the assets of the Central Bank of Russia, carrying out one of the measures decided against Russian banks this weekend with the European Union and Japan. Battered all last week, the New York stock market indices had rebounded on Friday, the Dow Jones gaining 2.51% (NASDAQ +1.64%; S&P 500 +2.24%).
