Five days after the invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine, the city of Nîmes supports the Ukrainian people. It is launching this Monday a collection of basic necessities, medical and hygiene products. Donations are made in the six social centers from the city. The André Malraux center in Chemin Bas-d’Avignon, the Emile Jourdan center near Gambetta, the Jean Paulhan center in Mas de Mingue, the Simone Veil center in Valdegour, the Vergnolles center in Pissevin and the neighborhood center on the road to Arles . They are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In particular, we need pasta, energy bars, shower gel, toothpaste, thermal blankets, sleeping bags, bandages or plasters – François Courdil, deputy mayor of Nîmes, delegate for the policy of the city and social centers
Every Friday, the products deposited in the six social centers will be collected by the Alliance Ukraine Occitanie association. “The donations will then be sent to the hospital in Lviv, a Ukrainian city near Poland.” concludes François Courdil.
