Florent Pagny has shared the life of his wife Azucena Caamaño, a 55-year-old South American painter, for 30 years now. Together, they became the parents of two children: Inca, born in 1996 and Ael, born in 1999… before getting married in 2006. At the start, however, nothing was won since the singer was a very bad flirt.
“At first he always had an aggressive attitude towards me. I ask around me, ‘What’s happening to this one? Does he hate me or what?’. They answer me: ‘No, he’s trying to flirt with you!’. I understood that his aggressiveness was clumsiness. Also, when they met in 1992, Florent Pagny was in a very bad state. “This woman when I meet her, I’m in the hollow period of my career and my life and everyone around me knows what happened: I have just spent three years with Vanessa Paradis, she left, my friends too, I have tax problems that I’m running from… Frankly, I’m at the bottom of the hole” confessed the coach of “The Voice” in the same program, facing Marc-Olivier Fogiel.
“One day, we’re in the car, and she’s like, ‘why is everyone saying you’re dead? That you are finished?’. That’s what happened to me, I had three years of celebrities, I sold a few records but then I sold more. And we didn’t talk about me anymore because I was planted by my girlfriend than anything else. And at the same time, nobody knew the capacity that I could have to come back” he then remembered. Florent Pagny then launched a bet to his companion: “‘Come we stay together and we try to see if we can go up the slope together’. And we pulled it off pretty well” he asserted.
Today, the pretty brunette is once again a big shoulder for her husband who suffers from lung cancer and who has just started chemotherapy sessions.
