Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 23 fewer hospitalizations, five deaths

Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 continue to decline in Quebec. On Sunday, 23 fewer patients were reported, bringing the total number of people hospitalized to below 1,500 for a second consecutive day.

The 23 fewer hospitalizations reported on Sunday translate to 80 new admissions and 103 discharges. A total of 1,456 people remain hospitalized in connection with COVID-19. Of this number, 98 are in intensive care, a decrease of 2 compared to the previous day (9 entries and 11 exits).

The province has identified five more people who have succumbed to COVID-19.

Quebec reported 1,036 new cases on Sunday, bringing the daily average to 1,376. Due to the limits imposed on screening, reserved for priority groups, the number of cases is less representative. The number of active outbreaks decreased from 709 to 691.

A total of 15,604 scans were completed on Friday. The positivity rate is 7.7%.
