COVID-19: 24 more deaths in Quebec

Quebec reports Friday 24 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 and a further drop in hospitalizations.

The number of hospitalizations now stands at 1,532, down 72 from Thursday. Of those patients, 105 people are in intensive care, up from nine.

The death toll is 13,955 in the province.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,542 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 918,821 infections since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 95,132 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 74,135 positive. For Thursday, 381 tests were reported, including 287 positive.

The ministry indicates that 18,475 analyzes were carried out on Thursday and the positivity rate is 9%.

Regarding vaccination, 14,825 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of vaccine, 86% received at least two doses and 51% received a third dose.
