The price of a barrel of oil exceeded 100 dollars on Thursday February 24. This new increase in prices at the pump, already high, worries consumers.

For the past few weeks, fuel prices have been skyrocketing. In Hazebrouck (Nord), customers keep their eyes glued to the meter. “There, I am at 120 euros, roughly, to simply work, and have a little leisure. But at present, leisure is a bit complicated to have it”said a motorist.

The war in Ukraine is in the minds of all consumers, who fear repercussions on the French economy. “It will have repercussions again on energy, again on gasoline, on gas. Here, we fill up, and then we will wait”, says another consumer. During the first Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory, the barrel of Brent, the benchmark for the price of crude oil, exceeded 100 dollars. This is a first since 2014.
