The news fell on Wednesday, one of the emblematic figures of the ABBA group has decided to end his 41-year-long relationship.
ABBA star, Bjorn Ulvaeus 76 years old and his wife Lena Kallersjo 73-year-old has made the decision to separate after 41 years of marriage but plans to stay”close friends” and to continue enjoying family vacations together. The couple have given birth to two children but have vowed to move on from remaining close friends. In a statement sent to HuffPost UKthe now estranged couple said “after many wonderful and fulfilling years, we have decided to take different paths. We remain good friends and will continue to celebrate the birthdays of our grandchildren and other family members.“
Björn and Lena separate a few months after the latter resumed working with his ex-wife and partner of ABBA Agnetha Faltskog71 years old, in order to prepare Travel, the first album in 40 years from the famous Swedish group. Björn Ulvaeus had 2 children with his first wife, Linda 48 years old and Peter 44 years old, then two others with Lena, Emma 40 years old and Anna 35 years old. Björn and Agnetha had met when the latter was only 19 and he was 24. They were almost immediately married in 1971, shortly before their band achieved international success. They had begun to experience difficulties six years later before formalizing their divorce in 1979, much to the disappointment of fans.
Barely a week later the singer started dating Lena, a Swedish TV presenter who was known to be a lookalike of his first wife. Finally, the couple got married two years later in 1981… Does this separation mark the return of the legendary ABBA couple of the 1970s?
