“I am 100% Parisian”

She has not left the Parisian neighborhood of her childhood. She retains her family ties to the south. She recharges her batteries by the sea. Diane Leyre, Miss France 2022, reveals her corners of France, her city of heart and the region where she likes to recharge her batteries, in a Place(s) À.

Diane Leyre was elected Miss France on December 11 in Caen. The one who until then wore the scarf of Miss Île-de-France 2021 entered the competition as a nod to her cousin, Illana Barry elected Miss Languedoc-Roussillon 2020 and unsuccessful candidate for the Miss France election 2021.

Seat(s) at, it is an opportunity to discover a personality in a more intimate way through places to which it is attached. This time, it’s the current Miss France, Diane Leyre, who tells us about the France she loves.

I am 100% Parisian

I spent my childhood in Paris, in the 7th arrondissement. I remember when I left school with one of my best friends and we were waiting for our moms, still holding hands, the two of us, until our moms arrived. As long as the second had not arrived, we stayed like that, waiting.

Diane Leyre is faithful to the Paris of her childhood: “I always walk past the school because it’s literally a three minute walk from my house.

A Miss PSG fan

For our new Miss France, “Who says Paris, says PSG!

Diane Leyre is a true supporter of PSG who vibrates to the rhythm of her players:

“I’m a big fan of my team. I love football in general because it’s a sport that brings people together. I saw Messi’s first goal at the Stade de France and it made me whole. This what thrills me in the role of supporter is that you feel really attached to your team, as if you were playing with them. Sometimes I watch the matches and I say to myself: ‘But touch the ball!’

I’m angry as if I had already played with them, whereas I would be useless on the field.

Like a desire to get some fresh air

Parisian, Diane Leyre remembers her best outdoor vacation, in Languedoc-Roussillon. As a child, she spent all her summers in the Camargue where her father’s family lived:

It remains my second region of heart. Over there, when I get some fresh air, when I go for a walk on the beach, when I find my family, I feel much calmer.

Moreover, she continues to stay in the region:

I usually go to Aigues-Mortes to walk around the ramparts. It’s a very nice little town to walk around.

You now know where to meet Miss France this summer.

To recharge her batteries, Diane Leyre always turns to the countryside, but this time she turns to Normandy:

“I have a forever link with the city of Caen and suddenly, Normandy. It feels good to go for a walk by the sea, to eat fish, shellfish… It’s there I was elected. It was the public that carried me to the end. So inevitably, now, every time I think of the city of Caen or when I go back there, I will have that particular little thrill of telling me that’s where it all started.”

When it comes to finding a common point between her two heart regions, Diane Leyre immediately evokes the sea:

“I need the sea, me, in my life. It’s true that it’s not in my native region, but I go looking for it quite often. I think that’s why I’m attached to Normandy or Languedoc-Roussillon.”

For swimming, let’s say that when I need a little energy, I choose Normandy and when I need to relax, Languedoc.

With the scarf of Miss France, Diane Leyre now has the opportunity to discover France in its every corner. We cross our fingers that she will come back to present her favorites at the end of the year, in a future issue of Place(s) À.
