A debate on the Russian invasion of Ukraine will take place on Tuesday March 1 in the National Assembly, franceinfo learned from a government source on Thursday February 24, confirming information from LCP. Before this discussion, “a message from the President of the Republic will be delivered Friday at 2:30 p.m. simultaneously to the National Assembly and the Senate, by the presidents of the two chambers”said the Elysée, this Thursday afternoon, specifying that “the Prime Minister will be present during this speech at the National Assembly”. This message will not give rise to any debate, in accordance with article 18 of the Constitution.
