The tamed shrew in Caen.

This Shakespeare play is ahead of its time because it is about feminism and emancipation. Catarina, played by Sarah Biasini is rebellious, she does not accept that a husband is chosen for her in her place, and she will therefore let it be known loud and clear.

For the staging, Frédérique Lazarini chose to place the action in a square in a small Italian village in the 1950s, to draw a parallel with the cinema of those years, and with charismatic actresses like Monica Viti or Sofia Loren who embodied women with a strong character.
