The gardens of Eyrignac, one of the must-see spots in the Dordogne

“It’s a long and beautiful love story!”, exclaims Patrick Sermadiras. “This is a property that has been in my family for 500 years, for twenty-two generations. I was born there, I grew up there, and I will probably die there. I am attached to it as much as I could being with a child, every square centimeter has a story for me”. Patrick took over from his dad who recomposed and redesigned the premises in 1965. Since 2004, the gardens surrounding the 18th century manor house of Eyrignac have been classified as “Remarkable Gardens”.

One of the most beautiful French gardens

“It’s a garden that is very green, even at the moment in winter, it’s magical! We are very happy to be able to share it with as many people as possible”, announces Capucine Sermadiras, Patrick’s wife. The visitor discovers a French garden made up of hornbeams of yew and boxwood. Here the mole art is marvelously well mastered. “My gardeners are sculptors. They don’t do anything at random, they do it with a line, with a plumb line. Everything is carved by hand”, specifies Patrick Sermadiras.
