The opposition parties are asking the Coalition avenir Québec to reimburse the public funds used for partisan training that earned a reprimand from the Ethics Commissioner of the National Assembly.
The Liberal leader, Dominique Anglade, accused the CAQ of having trivialized this situation by which employees paid by the National Assembly devoted their paid time to a webinar used in particular for the planning of their election advertising, last fall.
“We are not talking about an hour or two that have been devoted to this issue, we are talking about tens, hundreds of hours that have been devoted to that,” she said during a point Press.
According to Ms. Anglade, the costs incurred by taxpayers should be reimbursed by the political party.

Last week, Commissioner Ariane Mignolet concluded that the CAQ parliamentary wing broke ethical rules by using National Assembly resources for partisan purposes to train its constituency employees for the next election campaign. The employees of the constituency offices of the CAQ MPs had been invited by the office of the chief government whip, Éric Lefebvre.
