Vladimir Putin announced on Monday February 21 the recognition of the independence of the pro-Russian separatist zones. A red line crossed which obliges Europe to react. This explains “first because the announcement took place just before the curfew was put in place, then because the day was again very tense, we could hear heavy gunfire in the distance” and, finally, because the inhabitants “are afraid that this announcement will push the conflict into another dimension and that it will worsen a little more”.
