The appeal is signed by eight deputies and a senator, including the deputy for Richmond-Arthabaska Alain Rayes and the deputy for Bellechasse-Les Etchemins Dominique Vien.
“Your 28 years of experience in active politics make you the perfect person to lead the Conservative Party and the Government of Canada,” emphasize the signatories of the appeal.
“Our country urgently needs an experienced leader like you to face major economic challenges. We need a seasoned and unifying statesman to curb the division caused by the federal Liberals,” they argue.

The signatories fell head over heels for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, accused of having led the country into a “deep division”. “On the economic and public finance management front, Mr. Trudeau’s record is disastrous,” they accuse.
“We are appealing today to your sense of duty in order to turn the tide, to unite our great country and to restore Canada’s image on the international scene”, add the signatories, before professing: “Mr. Charest, the Canada needs you!”
