COVID-19: Quebec reports three new deaths

Three new deaths attributable to COVID-19 are added to Quebec’s balance sheet on Monday, while an increase of 18 hospitalizations is also reported.

The number of hospitalizations is now 1,776, including 119 in intensive care, five more than on Sunday.

The province’s death toll now stands at 13,856.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,064 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 912,463 people infected since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 90,149 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 70,232 positive. For the day on Sunday, 474 cases were declared, including 363 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 15,231 analyzes were carried out on Sunday and that the positivity rate for Quebec is 7.8%.

With regard to vaccination, 11,393 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, 91% of the population aged 5 and over received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 86% received at least two and 50% received a third dose.
