Will hunting days in France soon be limited or supervised? The debate around this question was revived at the heart of the presidential campaign, after a new accident which claimed the life of a young hiker in Cantal.

While walking on a marked hiking trail, a 25-year-old young woman was killed by a hunter’s bullet on Saturday afternoon, February 19. André Pujade, hunter, participated in the wild boar hunt, during which the tragedy occurred. First we heard gunshots. (…) The president called us, told us to go up immediately, because there is a serious accident”says the hunter.

The hunter behind the fatal blow is a 17-year-old, rather seasoned according to the man. The shooter was taken into custody for manslaughter. An investigation has been opened. In the village where the victim is from, everyone is moved by the death of this nature enthusiast. This new fatal accident questions, and puts the subject of hunting at the heart of the presidential campaign.
