The Ukrainian Interior Minister in the trenches. A visit supposed to show that the authorities do not fear the enemy: the pro-Russian separatists whose minister looks at the positions within 300 meters. “Here the Ukrainian friend is on the lookout. The enemy has no chance”. However, at the exit of the trench, the situation degenerates. The first strikes surprise the delegation, including the soldiers. Second shell fire less than 50 meters from the minister. He is pinned to the ground and protected by his bodyguards. He is then exfiltrated while the shells are still falling.

We find it later. He claims that those who fired are the pro-Russian separatists, still moved and shocked by the scenes experienced earlier. A grandmother met in the village adjoining the front line takes refuge in her basement. This morning she experienced two hours of continuous bombing. She is exhausted: “I have no other place to go”. In this same village is located the headquarters of the Ukrainian forces.
