Stade Toulousain – Thomas Ramos: “We have no right to switch to the wrong side”

Beaten this Saturday in Pau (27-22), Stade Toulousain chained six defeats in a row for the first time in its history in the Top 14. If Toulouse is fifth before Racing 92’s trip to Bordeaux this Sunday, the classification is is tightened with the victories of Stade Français and La Rochelle. The Maritimes, eighth, are only three points behind Ugo Mola’s men.

“We have no right to switch to the wrong side”

Thomas Ramos, who returned from the XV of France to play at the Hameau on Saturday, did not imagine a downfall for a second and sounded the alarm: “Today, it’s either you switch to the good side or the bad. The season is far from over. Without disrespecting anyone, we have no right to switch to the wrong side. We are always one game behind. From today until the end of the season, defeat at home is forbidden and you will have to go and take points everywhere. The message is this.”

An internship in the Landes to clear your head

The Toulousains, who slept in Pau on Saturday evening, are in training until Tuesday evening on the side of Soustons in the Landes in order to best prepare the reception of the UBB on Sunday at Ernest-Wallon. “Internships often bring the group together. I hope it will have this effect. We all have three days together where we will be able to get out of the outside pressure a little. When we are in a negative circle, we have to break the routine and training habits. In the team there are no cheaters or guys who do things by halves. You just have to find a collective drive”, reassures the Toulouse captain of the moment Alban Placines.

Stade Toulousain still has several meetings to negotiate without its internationals: the receptions of Bordeaux and Montpellier as well as a trip to the Stade Français.
