The MEP defends himself against Marine Le Pen’s accusations. He claims not to have given strategic information to Eric Zemmour’s camp. But of his latest war prize, the presidential candidate hardly speaks: “Since General De Gaulle, we have been destined to remain free. We will not be obliged to anyone, neither the Americans, nor NATO, nor the Russians, nor the Chinese, nor Europe, nor even Europe. ‘UN.“
Éric Zemmour is trying to follow in the general’s footsteps. Earlier, he gave a photo shoot on a trawler named Le Grand Charles. A De Gaulle day, therefore, and a new shocking formula: “I therefore wish on this very important day and in front of Mont-Saint-Michel, to propose to you a strategic line for our country. I will baptize it the Gaullism of reconquest.” A play on words with the name of his Reconquest movement and a nod to the Republican right.
Éric Zemmour came to praise a powerful and independent France. With a more martial tone, bordering on shouting, the candidate celebrates a “France proud of its army, the defense of all that we are and of all that we love. Victory, reconquest. Long live independence! Long live power! Long live sovereignty! Long live the Republic! And above all long live the France !”
Off the microphone, Éric Zemmour is betting on a collapse of Valérie Pécresse, so it was to the LR electorate that he addressed himself. The former far-right polemicist hopes for a second round against Emmanuel Macron and totally ignores Marine Le Pen.
