“Sales: educs-psy at a discount”, “Social and medico-social essential and yet forgotten by Ségur”. On their placards, a hundred medico-social employees denounce unequal treatment within the framework of the Ségur de la santé. During this demonstration which took place in Pau this Thursday, February 17 in front of the prefecture of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, they demanded an increase of 183 euros per month in their salaries for all employees in the sector. “We see colleagues who are better paid than us, while we do the same things in the field”, explains Mathieu, a specialist educator in Pau. Indeed, the nursing staff of social and medico-social establishments obtained this revaluation but not the specialized educators.
“It generates tensions in the teams and it poses recruitment problems. The salary conditions are unacceptable: there are a lot of employees who are stuck at the minimum wage level and the working conditions are deteriorating. So the profession is no longer attractive to such an extent that we no longer find replacements, even for short periods”, says Michel Vialar, CGT delegate. Employees in the sector are therefore stepping up demonstrations to make themselves heard. An appointment has been requested with the management of Adapei 64.
