On October 21, Alec Baldwin fatally hit the director of photography for his next film with a gun supposed to be loaded with blank bullets. The actor has spoken for the first time since the tragedy.
Alec Baldwin has spoken for the first time since the October 21 drama. During trials, he shot a gun at Alina Hutchins, 44, director of photography of the western he was filming in, fatally hitting her. The director, behind her at the time, was seriously injured. The actor, touched and affected, was arrested with his wife by journalists near his home.
“She was my friend. The day we arrived, we all had dinner with the director. We were very, very close. We were a tight-knit team before this horror happened,” reacted Alec Baldwin. According to the gunsmith, the pistol was loaded blank, but it did contain live ammunition. “Accidents do happen from time to time. But that, never. There was a chance in billions”, continued the actor. Investigations are ongoing and at this stage, no leads have been ruled out.
