The product star of Valentine’s Day is the red rose which will sell by the tens of thousands in 24 hours on French soil. 85% red roses come from abroad, and the world’s largest producer is Kenya.

Red roses come to warm the hearts of Parisians in the middle of winter. They are the stars of Valentine’s Day which will take place on Monday February 14. carlos Mouraoa Parisian florist, has ordered a thousand and it has just been delivered on Sunday 13 February. It is then necessary to prepare the roses and put them in bouquets before the arrival of the first customers. “On Valentine’s Day, we should sell around 2,500 and 3,000 roses”says the florist.

The rose symbolizes eternal love, passion and voluptuousness. It is timeless for February 14. Each year, more than two million French people buy them. But where are they grown? 85% of our roses come from abroad and travel thousands of kilometres. A large portion of roses grow in the highlands of Kenya, Africa. The country is the world’s leading producer.
