KYIV | Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will speak on the phone to his American counterpart Joe Biden “in the coming hours” about the Russian-Western crisis around Ukraine, Ukrainian President Serguii Nikiforov’s spokesman announced on Sunday.

“Volodymyr Zelensky will discuss the security situation and diplomatic efforts for de-escalation with US President Joe Biden in the coming hours,” the spokesperson announced on Facebook.
Diplomatic efforts marked by a frenzy of phone calls on Saturday between Western leaders and Moscow failed to ease tensions around Ukraine.
Washington warned on Friday that Russia had gathered enough forces around Ukraine to launch an offensive “at any moment”.
