Fourth at the end of the final, the Canadians were not able to climb on the Olympic podium in the 3000m relay of short track speed skating, Sunday in Beijing.

It was the last relay, a bit messy, which seemed to cost Canada dearly.
“Unfortunately, I think we escaped him in the last exchange, said Kim Boutin at the microphone of Radio-Canada. We gave everything we could. (…) It is “tough”.
The Dutch triumphed by setting a new Olympic record in passing in 4 min 03.409 s. South Korea (4:03.627) and China (4:03.863) also edged the Maple Leaf representatives (4:04.329).
Along with Courtney Sarault, Florence Brunelle and Alyson Charles, Boutin was therefore unable to win a fifth Olympic medal.
The Canadians secured their spot in the A final by narrowly edging out the Koreans in the semifinals on Wednesday.
