Proclaimed in 2011 by UNESCO Member States and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day, February 13 has become World Radio Day (WRD). Radio is a powerful tool that remains the most widely consumed medium worldwide. It is also one of the most reliable media, according to various international reports. The theme of the 2022 edition of World Radio Day is therefore devoted to “Radio and Trust”..
It should be remembered that it was around 1913 that the first shared radio bands came into service. Since that time, and despite digital developments, radio has not lost the trust of listeners, on the contrary it is still gaining in confidence.
