The demonstrators of the “freedom convoys” marched in confusion around the Place de l’Etoile and on the Champs-Élysées on Saturday, repelled by the police for several hours. They failed to block Paris, but they demonstrated until late on Saturday evening.
The cars, motorhomes and motorbikes planned to block traffic were quickly evacuated off the avenue and only groups of protesters on foot.
