This is a great addition for the Montreal club since the 26-year-old Quebecer, formerly of Laval University’s Rouge et Or, has Canadian player status.

Desjardins, who twice won the Vanier Cup during his stay in Quebec, has played recent seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. He has 18 games experience in the Canadian Football League.

“I have known Vincent since his years at Laval University, and he is a player with a grudge on the field, commented the general manager of the Alouettes Danny Maciocia, by way of a press release. We are adding depth to our team, in addition to strengthening our special teams.

In 25 college games, Desjardins recorded 51 tackles and 11.5 sacks. The Quebec native also added three forced fumbles to his record and recovered one.
