A dozen farmers mobilized in front of the Intermarché store in Mirecourt this Friday morning in the Vosges. They spilled several tons of manure in front of the supermarket and drive-through entrances of the retail brand. An initiative led by the FDSEA 88 and the Young Farmers of the Vosges to put pressure on large retailers in the midst of negotiating prices with the food industry.
The agricultural unions fear being the big losers in the price battle in the midst of a debate before the presidential election on purchasing power. According to an Intermarché employee, the store should not be open this morning.
A similar mobilization is planned this morning in front of the Leclerc store in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. Last week, the agricultural unions also mobilized in front of the Leclerc de Golbey.
