The fictitious Freedom Convoy is, as far as I am concerned, nothing but nonsense and makes me think of 1984by George Orwell, a novel describing among other things the destruction of language and logic with slogans such as “War is peace”, “Freedom is slavery”, etc.
This convoy is about the freedom not to receive a free vaccine that only costs a few tens of dollars of our taxes, but also, if we catch COVID-19, the freedom to waste a hundred thousand dollars if is no longer in hospital charges.
This convoy is that of the freedom to clutter hospitals, to infect medical personnel…; 50% of new people hospitalized due to COVID are non-vaccinated, who nevertheless represent only 10% of the population.
This convoy is that of the freedom to make one’s fellow citizens suffer, because the congestion of health services postpones indefinitely the surgical interventions of patients who need it, lengthening their suffering and their risk of dying.
This convoy is that of the freedom to kill one’s fellow citizens with complete impunity, because a doubly vaccinated person, having also received his booster vaccine, can still catch COVID, alas; vaccines are not 100% effective, but 90%, or even only 80%, or even less, but still effective in limiting the damage.
Daring to suffix “convoy” with “freedom” reminds me of the former communist police dictatorship of East Germany, which had the ignominy to call itself the German Democratic Republic.
