The 23-year-old spent the night in hospital and underwent several operations. The day after the shooting, he was still in a coma.

“We haven’t slept all night. We are waiting for news, we keep hope, ”explained his mother, who prefers not to reveal his identity to the public.

She is unaware of the altercation that left her son seriously injured in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons, close to his home.

It all started around 4 p.m. near the intersection of boulevard de Rome and route 132, in Brossard.

The victim is inside his car when the suspects burst into a black Mazda.

One of them gets out of the vehicle and shoots several times. One of the three passengers aboard the car insists on leaving immediately.

A dark-colored SUV follows them on Route 132. One of the three suspects then fired at the vehicle, which is believed to be linked to the victim, according to our sources.

Suspects arrested

The victim was known to authorities for drug and fraud cases, unlicensed police sources told the media.

The young man’s residence had been targeted in a burglary attempt in recent months. It is not known, however, if this event would have a link with the attempted murder which occurred Tuesday in broad daylight.

The three suspects – aged between 23 and 26 – were arrested shortly after the incident.

“These same suspects should appear today at the Longueuil courthouse. They could face various charges, including those of attempted murder and conspiracy,” said the Service de police de l’Agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL).

Two firearms were seized as part of this investigation which is still ongoing.

“We are able to link two crime scenes in connection with these arrests, that of Brossard where the victim was found and another in Candiac. »

Anyone with information on this event is asked to contact 911 or the Info-Azimut line anonymously at 450-646-8500, adds the police force.
