On Sunday February 6, for its first match of the 2022 6 Nations tournament, France beat Italy (37-10). A victory without shining, but the essential is assured, and the supporters were able to find the stands in a full stadium.

For the first time in many months, French supporters were able to sing together in a packed France stadium (Seine-Saint-Denis). 60,000 people attended the victory of the XV of France against Italy (37-10), at the opening of the 6 Nations tournament, Sunday February 6th. Like a pre-Covid air. “It’s nice to find many in a stadium”, rejoiced a man. The coach, Fabien Galthié, was in solitary confinement, due to a Covid-19 infection, and therefore communicated with his staff by telephone.

The Blues struggled to get into the game. But over the course of the meeting, France was released. With this victory, the XV of France provides the essentials, without shining or forcing. The man of the match is called Gabin Villière, author of a hat-trick. “It’s a bit of a tricky match. We have to be level from the first day”, commented the French winger. France is leading the tournament, and will host Ireland on Saturday 12 February.
