The victim was transported to the hospital as was the driver of the bus, a 55-year-old woman, who suffered a violent nervous shock. There were no passengers on the bus.
The impact occurred around 7:00 a.m., when, after traveling west on boulevard de la Côte-Vertu, in the borough of Saint-Laurent, the bus made a turn north on boulevard Jules Poitras.
The victim was crossing the intersection at the time. It appears that the pedestrian and the vehicle were both on green light.
Collision investigators from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) have opened an investigation to determine the exact causes of the incident.
