The city of Bayonne had already organized a conference on secularism last year, in the presence of local representatives of the various monotheistic cults. This year, it is repeating the initiative but inviting the national representatives of religions, the interlocutors of the State and the Ministry of the Interior. Will be present :
- Haïm Korsia, Chief Rabbi of France
- Bishop Éric de Moulin-Beaufort, President of the Conference of Bishops of France or his representative
- Mohammed Moussaoui, President of the French Council for Muslim Worship
- François Clavairoly, President of the Protestant Federation of France
“Religions, values of the Republic and secularism”, this is the theme of this conference which will be held on Wednesday February 16 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Salon of Bayonne City Hall. A meeting open to the public but The number of places is limited due to covid restrictions. At the initiative of this meeting, we find Déborah Loupien-Suarès, deputy in charge (…) of the fight against discrimination and relations with religions. She is also president of the Jewish community of Bayonne-Biarritz which brings together 300 member families.
