From February 24 to March 5, circus artists and Olympic skaters (Shawn Sawyer, Marie-Jade Lauriault, Romain Le Gac) will pirouette on the ice rink of the Esplanade Tranquille in the Quartier des Spectacles, on the occasion of the Montréal en lumière festival .
Yes Cadence is the first Les 7 Doigts show to be created on ice. In 2017, two of the company’s co-founders, Shana Carroll and Sébastien Soldevila, directed Crystalthe Cirque du Soleil baptism on skates.
The show, which is aimed at all audiences, will be presented twice a day (at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) on a “first come, first served” basis. The eternally suave Alain Golberg is one of the narrators of this journey through the history of skating.
Montréal en lumière also announced on Monday that it will set up its Sentier de patin, an aerial route of more than 300 meters, with light tubes, visual effects and exciting music, on the Place des Festivals. All that’s missing is a little hot chocolate.
