The 44th edition of the Nordic Transju is scheduled for the weekend of February 12 and 13, 2022. The legendary race will take place on Sunday. Normally 70 km long, it is finally a 60.4 km route, starting from La Combe du Lac in Lamoura, to go as far as Chaux-Neuve, which was revealed on Monday February 7 at the Hôtel de Région in Besançon.
The snow conditions are very good but do not allow to finish the course in Mouthe, as usually. Nevertheless, the organizers are leaving themselves a few more days to try to lengthen the route and get as close as possible to 70 km. They expect 3,500 participants by the close of registration.
Fewer registrations because foreigners are struggling to return with the covid
Fewer registrations, because foreigners are still reluctant to make the trip because of the covid. But the main French headliners should be there, according to Marie-Pierre Guilbaud, multiple winner of the Transju and today in charge of the event for the 2022 edition.
“The runners will cross the village of Prémanon, Les Rousses with the famous climb of the optician, up to Bois d’Amont, it will take them to the climb of Risoux, Bellefontaine with the passage in the Doubs at Chapelle-des- Bois and the arrival at Chaux-Neuve”, explains Marie-Pierre Guilbaud.
