Despite the colossal efforts mobilized by the rescuers, Rayan, who had fallen into a well five days ago in Morocco, died. Tributes came from all over the world, Sunday, February 6.
A tragic epilogue after days and days of work to save little Rayan, who fell to the bottom of a well. But Sunday, February 6, all of Morocco is in mourning. Dozens of rescuers carried his stretcher, and a guard of honor was organized in his honor. The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, personally called the parents of the child to convey his condolences. “I would like to express my gratitude to each person who has helped us”reacted Khaled Aourram, the father of Rayan.

The crowd gathered around the rescuers and family to support them, with many prayers. Morocco is in mourning, and the emotion has gone beyond the country’s borders. Jamel Debbouze, Gad Elmaleh, Emmanuel Macron or even Pope Francis sent their thoughts to Rayan. His funeral is scheduled for Monday, February 7.
