If the streets were much less noisy than the day before, horns continued to be heard despite everything, were able to note representatives of the “Journal de Montréal” and the QMI Agency.

The organizing committee of the event had however announced on Saturday that it would take a break from honking on Sunday morning to honor the military and health workers.

This temporary break was to take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The committee said in a press release to make this gesture “out of respect for the day of the Lord, for the members of our military who have sacrificed and who continue to sacrifice themselves so much for our freedom, for the men and women in blue who are doing such a superb job of protecting us, and as a sign of goodwill.”

They also shared their condolences with the relatives of the victims of the Eastway Tank factory explosion, for whom a vigil was held in their honor on Saturday.

Recall that the organizers of this convoy face a potential class action of $ 9.8 million for continuous noise of vehicle horns filed on behalf of residents of the city’s downtown.
