September 29, 2021, Jamy Gourmaud saw his book Chez Jamy: I’ll explain! appear in Harper Collins. A project on which he confided to the magazine Paris here (October 27 edition). It was an opportunity to make rare confidences on his wife, but also on his children.
“My little pleasure is to transmit knowledge and knowledge“, said Jamy Gourmaud. So his fans can follow him in Jamy’s World (France 3), with Epicurious on YouTube or with his book. And for one of his projects, the 57-year-old presenter joined forces with his wife Manuela as he explained to our colleagues.
The charming woman is indeed at the origin of his channel and videos ofEpicurious. He discusses environmental, scientific and cultural themes to answer questions from his community. Videos first shot during the first confinement, in March 2020. “She gave me the idea soon enough and then, it allowed us not to go around in circles at home. We share the same curiosity, but neither she nor I are basic scientists. Manuela is more artistic, she is a painter. Today, she works with me, it is she who is behind the camera and who films me“, he explained.
His son Alex and Oscar could very well take up the torch. Like their famous daddy, both have followed a scientific course. But Jamy Gourmaud assures him, he has nothing to do with it. “My boys are grown up now. They are 26 and 23 years old. (…) I asked them to choose the disciplines in which they flourished the most. Above all, I did not force their hand. I would have been just as proud of them, if they had chosen a literary path. The main thing is obviously to see them happy“, concluded the former presenter of This is not rocket science !
