A 44-year-old man was stabbed overnight from Friday to Saturday in Montreal. However, his life is out of danger, said the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The police received a call around 11:45 p.m. about an armed attack at the intersection of Sherbrooke and Benny streets, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce sector. According to initial information from the SPVM, the victim was attacked by at least one suspect, with a sharp object. The man could have been injured “in the upper body,” said Raphaël Bergeron, spokesman for the police force.
The 44-year-old victim was taken to hospital conscious and there was no fear for his life. Investigators say they do not know the reason for the conflict. Several suspects have been interviewed to determine their involvement in the event, but there have been no arrests so far.
The investigators went to the scene to meet the witnesses and determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
