Minister Christian Dubé specifies that an audit mandate has been entrusted to the Institute in order to validate the performance of operations in the field and thus identify areas for improvement. The initiative has funding of 100 million over five years.
This improvement in the food supply in CHSLDs should be made from the preparation of dishes to their consumption by the people accommodated, according to the authorities.
The Minister adds that the deployment of food supply practices in seniors’ homes and alternative homes will begin as soon as they open next fall.
A minimum of 50% of the $100 million allocated envelope is intended for the addition of human resources to assess and intervene the nutritional needs of residents and for the development of recipes, food offerings and menus with adapted textures.
The other eligible expenses will be dedicated to the purchase of food or equipment to improve the meal activity in the CHSLDs.
