A “manual” error caused a five-minute delay in the opening of trading on Thursday on the TSX Venture Exchange.

It was not possible to obtain details on the nature of the error. The situation nevertheless gave investors headaches at the start of the day. “It’s the worst thing that can happen to traders and market participants,” commented Voicu Valentir, president of Groupe Cavaliro, an investment firm based in Laval.

“Nobody knew what was going on. From traders telephoned each other to find out if anyone could compromise. It was impossible to know whether our sell or buy orders had passed or not. »
